Data Technologies Minor

This new minor program represents an interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary approach to the world of data analysis and visualization. From a technology perspective, this program emphasizes data storage, retrieval, and visualization techniques and tools. This program is part of the ERIE21 initiative which provides students with a range of options for developing computing technology capabilities.

A student must complete the following five course requirements.

Any one of the following:
Introduction to Statistics I (no Computer Lab)
Introduction to Statistics I (with Computer Lab)

Calculus I
Any one of the following:
Physical Chemistry Laboratory
Research Methods
Econometrics
Methods of Historical Research
Information Systems Research Methods
Marketing Research
Research in Nursing
Statistical Physics
Methods of Political Science
Intro to Research Methods
Research Methods
Calculus II
Any one of the following (covering computing technologies):
Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
Bioinformatics
Instrumental Methods of Analysis
and Instrumental Analysis Lab
Introduction to Digital Technologies
Introduction to Digital Technologies
Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
Introduction to Management Info Systems
Numerical Methods
Computational Physics
Any one of the following (covering applied data analytics):
Data Technologies
Data Science
Crowds, Social Media & Digital Collaboration
Business Intelligence
Complete the following course:
